UFO Area: Aliens Under The Sea
Timothy Good 2000 Forget UFOs, something fishy is going on in the Caribbean.
Are Unidentified Submergible Objects the latest space menace? Judge the facts for yourself.
by Timothy Good IT'S THE most outlandish alien theory yet.
Beings from outer space establishing secret bases on Earth, and travelling in ships that are just as much at home beneath the sea as they are in the skies.
But a new book expounding the idea is written by one of the world's most respected authorities on UFOs, Timothy Good, and his findings are supported by one of Britain's most senior military men, retired Admiral of the Fleet Lord Hill-Norton.
Here, in the first of two articles, Good sets out his case.
On the morning of September 4, 1971, four mmembers of the National Geographic Institute of Costa Rica were flying in a twin-engined aircraft 10, 000ft above Lake Cote, near the Central American state's forbidding Arenal volcano.
A special map-making camera was slung underneath their plane.
It was automatic and large-format, and every 20 seconds it took another photograph of the lake beneath.
When the photographs were developed, one of the frames showed what seemed to be a metallic disc about 160ft in diameter, which had just left, or was on the point of entering, the lake.
Jules Verne - 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea Part 01
A complete, unabridged translation of Vingt milles lieues sous les mers by Jules Verne, based on the original French texts published in Paris by J.
The French title of this novel is Vingt mille lieues sous les mers.
This is accurately translated as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the SEAS--rather than the SEA, as with many English editions.
Verne's novel features a tour of the major oceans, and the term Leagues in its title is used as a measure not of depth but distance.
'I've collected every one of them.' 56 .
'The deepest parts of the ocean are totally unknown to us, ' admits Professor Aronnax early in this novel.
'What goes on in those distant depths? What creatures inhabit, or could inhabit, those regions twelve or fifteen miles beneath the surface of the water? It's almost beyond conjecture.' .
Jules Verne (1828-1905) published the French equivalents of these words in 1869, and little has changed since.
126 years later, a Time cover story on deep-sea exploration made much the same admission: 'We know more about Mars than we know about the oceans.' This reality begins to explain the dark power and otherworldly fascination of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas.

20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea
Lost attraction tribute: In 1994 we took our traditional pilgrimage to 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea.
It was a unique attraction in Disney World and we always made a point to ride it, even when the lines were long, which they often were.
After over a year of rumors, we learned the ride would never open again, to the dismay of thousands of fans of Captain Nemo in FantasyLand.
When there were 'E ticket' attractions, this was one.
For those of you who don't know what an 'E ticket' ride is, it's considered one of the best.
An 'A ticket' would be the Carousel, Dumbo a 'B', Peter Pan 'C', and Skyway a 'D'.
There were only eight 'E Ticket' attractions.
20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea is still an E ticket for me.
So if you are a fan of 20, 00 Leagues Under the Sea, take a nostalgic ride below.
If you never got to ride in the Nautilus sub, Come with us.
A virtual voyage is the only way to ride with Captain Nemo now.
No kidding, you have a choice of two sizes and they are very detailed.
Click on the upper right of the page at Monsters In Motion for plenty of Nautilus replica photos.

20000 Leagues under the Sea Storybook , 16 Sep 2000.
The games on the CD require children to read at an advanced leavel - certainly NOT 5 year olds and although there is the good feature of difficult words being highlighted and defined, they are loosley chosen and then poorly defined.
All this CD really does is read aloud a relatively grown up Story to the children.
You would be better off getting the book and reading it with your children in bed!.
