Guide of SEA PORT

Road Traffic Technology - Dublin Sea Port Tunnel
Dublin Sea Port Tunnel, Republic of Ireland Dublin Sea Port, which currently handles two-thirds of all Ireland's seaport trade by value, sees over two million trucks and 300, 000 cars travel in and out of the port each year.
The solution to this is the Dublin Port Tunnel which comprises approx.
The tunnel is expected to provide a six-minute link between the port and the M50 for some 20, 000 vehicles per day upon opening.
The Dublin Port Tunnel runs from M1/M50 Coolock Lane Interchange and is being constructed as a bored tunnel in two directions from Collins Avenue, Whitehall.
Cut and cover tunnel construction will be used from Swords Road to the M1 entrance and from Fairview Park to the Alfie Byrne Road, a short overground drive from the port itself..
The launching point for the two TBMs that are drilling the majority of the Dublin Port Tunnel, the shaft is 33m deep, 56.6m in diameter and has walls 1.6m thick.
45 support staff per shift are required to operate the machine, most of whom are involved in the associated tasks of preparing 8t concrete tunnel liner segments that the TBM will fix, bolt and grout in place as it goes along..
DUAL CARRIAGEWAY TUNNEL The Dublin Port Tunnel, once finished, will be a 6.5km long dual carriageway, 4.5km of which will be fully underground at an average of approx.

SEA PORT

Sea Port of Embarkation (SPOE)
Sea Port of Embarkation (SPOE) Air and sea ports of embarkation nodes include unloading and temporary storage of munitions from depots and loading and shipping munitions from the port.
Air and sea ports of debarkation (PODs) nodes include the offloading of any conveyance, temporary storage, and shipment from the port by line-haul assets.
The supported CINC notifies the supporting CINCs and their components to task those units identified in the validated TPFDD for movement.
Those units whose point of origin is not collocated with the port of embarkation (POE) must prepare to move to the POE.
Upon arrival at the SPOE the cargo is placed into a marshaling yard where it is inspected by the port operator and deploying forces transportation representative.
Once the loads are prepped in the marshaling yard, the troop commander, port operator, and MTMC-MSC representatives coordinate to berth the ship.
As the vessel readies for loading, equipment is sent from the marshaling area or installation to the staging area by the port commander based on a call forward plan.
The MTMC port commander assumes custody of the cargo in the staging area.
Through its transportation component commands, the US Transportation Command is the Department of Defense-designated single port manager for all common-user aerial and sea ports worldwide.

Senator Bill Frist - VOLPAC
ports - from New York to New Orleans - raise serious questions regarding the safety and security of our homeland.
bahouth, rachelle 03/27/2006 03:13 PM i think that everyone is judging this port deal from a political view point rather than from a business standpoint.
I add this data to my reasons why I continue to support the White.
Felix, \N 03/18/2006 09:49 AM I don't like the idea of a foreighn country, with Arab connections, being in charge of our ports.
nichols, nick 03/17/2006 02:59 PM If you would check and see that DP World didn't buy the 6 ports and the 6 terminals within the 6 ports.
In addition, other countries like China (you know the Red Communists) operate ports all over the west coast.
Funny how CA legislators are blasting Bush for this deal when their own ports are operated by the Chinese.
Loman, Otis 03/11/2006 10:22 PM Senator Frist, I am angered to have listened to the president say that why would we be concerned about UAE having controll of some of our ports and not the British.
What are you going to do about forgien governments owning any of our infrastructure that has to do with commerical transportation of goods.
STENTZ, DAVID 03/10/2006 05:47 PM Only a company owned and operated by United States citizens should be allowed to run our ports or any area concerning national security.
