A $1, 000 award for the very best piece of sea glass displayed as judged by industry experts will be handed out along with prizes for the runner ups.
The winner will be determined by the decision of the judging panel comprised of NASGA board members and sea glass professionals.
The ' Shard of the Year ' contest is being held in memory of Joanne Schreiber, founder of the 2004 North East Sea Glass Festival.
