Photographer Du Hai won his own version of a SEA Games gold medal after he took out the top prize at a photography contest celebrating Southeast Asias biggest sporting event.
Hai, a photojournalist at The Thao Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh (HCM City Sport) newspaper, won the first prize, worth VND17.5 million (US$1, 150), in the Moments of SEA Games photo competition for his picture Clearing the Blockage.
"Like my colleagues, I was very excited to cover such a big sport event like SEA Games and I am so happy my work resulted in this honour, " said Hai at Tuesdays award ceremony in Ha Noi.
A book featuring the winning SEA Games images will also be published next year.

SECURITY measures and protocols for the 23rd Southeast Asian Games, which the Philippines will host for two weeks, will be strictly enforced, the Philippine National Police said Saturday.

The PNP Sea Games Task Force, working with other government agencies, will set up a Tactical Operations Center that will integrate and coordinate security tasks.
