Guide of MAMBEL FISH

Mambo 4.6 vs. Joomla 1.1 internationalization battle | Hiveminds Magazine for web publishers and community builders
They should have taken up Mambelfish and made it better by instituting file seperation to the database controlled translation scheme..
Joomla on the other hand has moved the former Mambelfish, now called Joom!fish, to the core of the CMS.
According to this Joomla will be switching to ini files I assume for control panel translations rather than using Joom!fish and leaving Joom!fish to handle the content only.

MAMBEL FISH

Mambo Open Source/Components - Wikibooks, collection of open-content textbooks
Mambelfish has been abandoned and has not been developed since 2005..
[edit ] Mambelfish The MambelFish project is a extention hack and component for the content management system Mambo.
[edit ] Installation The basic installation of the MambelFish goes along with the Mambo (version 4.5.2.3) standards..
1.a) start in the backend to install mambelfish:.
1.b) file 'Mambelfish_1.5.zip' with the component installer.
Also in the Administrator the Version should now say something about the MambelFish..
After you installed the language go to Administrator -> Components -> MambelFish -> Component Configuration.
The language switcher appears when you add <?php mosLoadComponent( 'mambelfish' );?> at the place where you wish in your template..

The language switcher appears when you add <?php mosLoadComponent( 'mambelfish' );?> at the place where you wish in your template..
Also installed the mamblefish module and the frontend mambot.
Activiated the languages -Components -> mambelfish ->language configurations; then set the iso for each language (en, fr, pt).
To translate, went to Components -> Mambelfish ->Translate Then selected a language and the menu clicked on a menu item to translate it.
I think it's php-version since Mablefish worked ok when I had php version 4.3.11 after updating to 4.4 series mamblefish didn't work anymore and I had those two images on the traslate page also.
2005-07-05 11:22 Yes it did work! Now I have Mambo 4.5.2 with Mambelfish 1.5 component runnig on php 4.3.11 and it works ok.
I started in the backend to install mambelfish..
- Mambelfish_1.5.zip with the component installer - Mbf_module.zip with the module installer - Mbf_searchbot.zip with the mambot installer.
