For SIGNONSANDIEGO There's power in group purchasing, and the King's Fish House restaurant family is proof.
Like other Fish House locations in Southern California, as well as the flagship Water Grill in downtown L.A.
The regular menu features more than a dozen fresh catches of the day, from Pacific rockfish to Alaskan halibut -- even regional favorites like San Francisco sand dabs.
There are daily oyster specials shucked to order; buckets of steamed clams and mussels, and loads of Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab legs.
To start, choose from four seafood soups and chowders (there's cioppino, too), six different shrimp snacks including tiger shrimp potstickers, or hefty salads like the King Crab Louie.
Like any good fish place, there's plenty here for people who don't like fish.
In the New Orleans-themed King Crab Lounge, barbecue shrimp or you-peel boiled shrimp in Tabasco mash are big, as are the oyster shooters and the game on TV.
Valet parking is available on Fridays and Saturdays.

We believed the Coromandel has been needing a really great fishing contest for years now and it has been a challenge that we, as organisers of KINGS OF THE COROMANDEL FISHING TOURNAMENT, were delighted to pick up.
With extensive local knowledge it was obvious, the middle of winter, when all the big kingfish move in, has to be the absolutle best time for the contest..
Coromandel has an amazing fishery and during the winter months the smaller fish move out into deeper water while big kingfish move in.
It is usually the time weather patterns settle down, the wind stops blowing and conditions are perfect for a fishing tournament! .
We also decided we wanted a fishing tournament for serious anglers..
This is why we have no spot prizes, no average weights, and your ticket number will not win a boat in our fishing contest.
The Kings of the Coromandel is the fishing tournament to reward anglers for catching big fish with the main prize going to the person who catches the biggest kingfish over 100lbs.

The seafood at King's Fish House is so fresh some of it's caught, cut and distributed daily to the chain's nine restaurants, including locations at The Crossings in Corona and Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.
Throw in the good service and family-friendly atmosphere, and King's is a winner.
My husband and I visited the newest restaurant, in Corona, on a weeknight and were seated on the patio overlooking the plants and pond of The Crossings shopping area.
We started with two items recommended by the waiter -- King's famous grilled artichoke ($8.95) and a half-order of the shrimp pot stickers ($5.95).
It's quite a bit of work to make a choice at King's since the menu includes almost 75 main dishes.
In November, it will be swordfish and spiny lobster.
King's, based in Orange County, has a chief seafood officer who oversees sourcing, purchasing and preparation methods of the fish they serve, said Keren-Dee Goldstein, company spokeswoman.
The seafood expert will even answer questions about seafood online at www.kingsfishhouse.com.
Testament to the high level of service is the King's Web site that includes seasonal seafood recipes and encourages visitors to call the head chefs at the restaurants with cooking questions.
