Fishing Method: chum, we planned on fishing blues.
there was a large fleet there bottom fishing and a few chumming blues.
Over the next 4 hours we had one of the best nights of fishing this season with 2 and 3 Tuna on at a time in non-stop action.
I had the Ron Antonelli Fishing Team back to the Hudson Canyon for a troll-n-chunk.
Instead of just going under the boat, the fish made large turns AROUND the boat, and this had the fishermen working off the bow for over 1½ hours of the fight, all during a bit of a northeast blow that turned the whole fleet around from their original anchoring position, but thankfully fixing the current running behind the boat.
And with the punishment that the line took from moving around the boat, under the anchor line (it was too crowded to get off the ball in case you're wondering) changing hands and fishermen dozens of times, we knew that the fish had to be hooked just right to allow us this much fight time.
He did a great job througout the fight, helping to maneuver the pole, line & anglers around the boat, allowing the fishermen to play the fish correctly, and to the Ron Antonelli Fishing Team for their diligence, patience and teamwork! What a great season thus far! (By the way, the picture will be on my website this week).
